IL ARCHITECTURE

In the world of fine living and refined experiences, architecture plays a silent yet powerful role, it shapes how we feel, how we connect, and how we exist within beauty. It’s the quiet backdrop to emotion, art, and life itself.

I am Irina Lungu, founder of IL Architecture, a Paris-based studio dedicated to luxury architecture and interior design. Our work is about timeless elegance, about spaces that breathe simplicity and emotion. IL Architecture speaks to those who cherish discretion, beauty and authenticity, those who find meaning in the details.

For more than six years, I have been transforming environments into living experiences, creating places that tell stories and awaken feeling. From architecture to interior design, every gesture is carried out with care and precision. Based in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, I bring a rich international perspective shaped by projects in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Romania, Poland, and France. The result is a style that blends sophistication, elegance, and cosmopolitan refinement. Each space becomes a dialogue between art and proportion, emotion and light.

Vision & Philosophy

At IL Architecture, we design poetic, serene spaces, an expression of quiet luxury and human warmth. Our approach is rooted in minimalism, grace, and a subtle sense of refinement with a discerning eye for detail. For us, true luxury doesn’t shout; it whispers. It lives in the play of light, the touch of a texture, the balance of a proportion. That’s why each project we create is an atmosphere, a world where emotion and space intertwine and reflects a profound understanding of what makes space meaningful. It’s an invitation to slow down, to breathe, to connect, to live beautifully, peacefully and feel at home. Together with my team, I strive to ensure that every project feels timeless and deeply personal, from private villas and residences to boutique hotels and refined retail spaces. Because to us, luxury is not about more, it’s about essence.

Recognition & Distinction

Early in my career, I was honored with Romania’s Best Graduation Project, a solo exhibition, and the invitation to represent the Romanian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. These recognitions marked the beginning of a path defined by curiosity, dedication, and love for the craft of architecture.

Yet, beyond awards and acclaim, true success lies in something far more intimate the emotion a space can awaken. My philosophy has always been to balance innovation, heritage, and grace, positioning IL Architecture as a studio of choice for those seeking bespoke and deeply refined design across Paris and Europe. Prestige alone does not drive me; what moves me is the search for harmony, for emotion, for meaning.

Projects & Legacy

Over the years, I have led a range of prestigious projects luxury hotels, private villas, refined boutiques, yachts, superyachts and floating structures. Each project is a story, a journey through elegance and light. From Paris to Venice, from residences to hospitality, every creation seeks to celebrate beauty and emotion.

Among our notable collaborations are the Musée des Invalides, the Centre Pompidou, and the Villejuif train station within the Grand Paris project. Managing developments from 10 to 200 million euros, I work hand in hand with my team to bring together creativity and precision heart and structure.

At IL Architecture, we design spaces meant to enchant and endure. Places that inspire, elevate, and quietly transform daily life. Because for those who see architecture not just as design, but as a way of living, each space becomes more than a destination it becomes a feeling that stays.

ALTER

Founded in 2018 by designer Pauline Ducruet. Alter is a visionary brand born to embrace and inspire the freedom of self. It was created out of a strong commitment to a more responsible and inclusive society. She wishes to convey an ideal of tolerance, love and respect for gender diversity.

Alter's identity is based on four pillars:

Inclusive. Alter adresses everyone, regardless of gender, while defending and encouraging respect, tolerance, freedom of expression and love.

Hybrid. Alter clothing line is a place of confluence, at the crossroads of diverse identities. A meeting of contrasts between luxury and underground that are reflected in both the clothes and the brand's ideals. Sumptuous silks with raw edges and adjustable cords, textured jerseys with wrapping panels, vegan leathers and singular cuts: a non-conformity that invites the taming of the wardrobe, that combines to luxuriate, play and transform.

Responsible. Alter integrates a sustainable approach into its creative process. Upcycling, product traceability and transparency are commitments dear to the designer: Made in France, meticulous sourcing of materials, upcycling of fabric scraps, dyes guaranteed to be chemical-free, etc.

Evolutive. Alter modernises the non-gendered wardrobe by proposing inclusive, non-binary, high-end and evolutive fashion: chic pieces to wear in all circumstances. Each piece is innovatively engineered for self-styling and chic versatility for every form.

Pauline Ducruet
Born in 1994 in Monaco, Pauline Ducruet is a committed entrepreneur. From her mother, Princess Stephanie Grimaldi of Monaco, an adventurer at heart, Pauline has a free and creative spirit, a taste for risk and, of course, a taste for fashion. She has always been immersed in her mother's eclectic and daring looks and wardrobe, and was barely 22 when the idea for Alter began to take shape. Pauline shares her childhood and adolescence between two worlds: art and sports. She blossomed and developed her passionate and rigorous character. These extremely technical and demanding disciplines teach her the art of perfection, which she will be able to use in her work as a designer a few years later. In 2010 Pauline joins the famous Instituto Marangoni in Paris, in fashion styling. She will then work for Vogue US Magazine, then for Rabih Kayrouz' fashion house. But Pauline finally went back to school, this time on the design side. In 2016, she graduated from Parsons - The New School for Design.

It was during her studies in New York that the idea of Alter was born, from the conviction that we can invent a sustainable fashion for the 21st century, help society to emancipate itself from gender norms, while offering tasteful clothes in quality and sustainable materials.
